Comparative transcriptomics reveals key genes contributing to the differences in drought tolerance among three cultivars of foxtail millet (Setaria italica)

Foxtail millet (Setaria italica L.) is an important food crop with strong drought stress tolerance. The response of foxtail to a complex regulatory network. It great guiding significance for agricultural production continuously explore candidate genes resistance and reveal the molecular mechanism metabolic pathway This study investigated three different cultivars resistance. Drought reduced water chlorophyll content, increased Malondialdehyde (MDA) level soluble protein leaves. From weak, order was Jigu39, Jingu21, Longgu16. transcriptome analysis these carried out. 2954, 1531, 2344 deferentially expressed under were identified in GO KEGG DEGs significantly enriched photosynthesis, metabolism, amino acid carbohydrate metabolism all cultivars. In addition, we 46 whose trends transcription change consistent among millet. Among them, 32 first related millet, which worth further research.
